Admission Regulations

I – DEGREE PROGRAMMES

A – Qualification for Direct Entry.

          A.1- Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with three O-level credits and 2 Principal Level Passes in A-level subjects appropriate to the anticipated degree studies (Computer, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering etc.)

OR
          A.2 - NTA Level 6 or Equivalent

B. Qualifications for Lateral Entry..

          B.1 - An appropriate equivalent Diploma/Full Technician Certificate not less than second del (with) class/credit level as approved by the Academic Board

OR
          B.2 - An appropriate equivalent Advanced Diploma/Certificate of not less than second class/Credit level as approved by the Academic Board.. Zambian (AGCE)

II – DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

C – Qualification for Direct Entry.

           C.1- Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent with subsidiary pass in any one subject.

OR
             C.2 – Certificate of General Course in Engineering (GCE)

III – OTHER REQUIREMENTS

D – Pre-Entry Examinations.

               D.1 – Entrance Examinations
                 All candidates, both for Degree and Diploma Programmes, must obtain a pass in the respective Exam to qualify for admission.

               D.2 - Bridge Course Examinations
                Direct entry candidates, both for Degree and Diploma programmes, who do not meet conditions A.1 and C.1 must attend the respective Bridge Course and pass the Course-End Examination for admission into the main programme

E – Fees.

                E.1 -  Admission becomes effective on full payment of required fees.

                E.2 – Fees once paid, in full or in part, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

                E.3 - Candidates must obtain and safely keep the official receipts of all payments and produce them when required by the office for any verification

F – Foreign Nationals.

                F.1 – Non-Tanzanian students must obtain a Student Resident Permit and complete all other immigration formalities before they commence studies.

G – Financial Assistance.

                G.1 - Students joining Degree programmes in St. Joseph College of Engineering, Dar es salaam and St. Joseph Institute of Information Technology, Songea are eligible to apply for Educational Loan from Higher Educational Studies Loans Board, Government of Tanzania. The loan forms are available in the Administrative office.

                G.2 - Limited Scholarship and Financial Assistance are provided to deserving students by the DMI Trust.
